[Class 89 (i)] [Also in Groups XXXV and XXXVI] In a variable inductance &c. in which adjustment is effected by relative movement between the winding 8 and a core 10, the movable element is carried by a screwed rod 12 engaging a nut formed by a dished metal plate 16 located between two flat plates 3, 18 adapted to be drawn together by a screw 22 whereby the nut is caused to grip the screwed rod to prevent accidental displacement of the adjustable element after initial setting. The screw 22 may be arranged to operate simultaneously on the adjusting devices for a number of inductance coils.
