880,540. Brake pedal arrangements. TRAKTORENWERK SCHONEBECK VEB. April 20, 1960, No. 13778/60. Class 103 (1). A braking arrangement for a vehicle, enabling the wheels of a vehicle to be individually or jointly braked as desired, comprises a common brake lever operable on two brake arms of brake systems of individual wheels of the vehicle by a selection member 81, pivotally mounted on the brake lever, the selection member having cams 9 and 9<SP>1</SP>, and the brake arms 2 and 3 being provided at their upper ends with displacedly arrayed inclined surfaces 17 and 17<SP>1</SP> at the same general level as that at which the selection member is mounted on the brake lever. By this arrangement a twisting movement applied to the pedal 5 about its pivot hinge 8 causes the cams 9 and 91 to engage either of the levers 2 or 3 to operate them individually so that the wheels to either side of a vehicle may be individually braked as desired. If the pedal member 5 is kept central both cams 9 and 9<SP>1</SP> and surfaces 17 and 17<SP>1</SP> engage so that both brakes are applied equally. The cams 9 and 91 also form abutments for levers 2 and 3 which are urged by springs 15 and 16.
