571,477. Cycle brakes. DOHERTY & SON, Ltd., J., DOHERTY, J., and TICKELL, F. C. Aug. 11, 1943, No. 12963. [Class 136 (i)] A cycle brake comprises caliper arms a having extensions a<1> associated with a Bowden cable and sheath l respectively, the free ends of the arms being maintained in abutment with but mechanically separable from a pair of pivoted arms c carrying the brake blocks or shoes d. The free ends of the caliper arms a are provided with discs or rollers b bearing against the channel section arms c which are pivoted on pins e extending from clips f clamped to either side of the cycle fork. A coil spring g embracing each pivot pin e normally maintains the brake blocks out of contact with the rim h. The caliper arms a are pivoted at k on a horseshoe framework j, the lower ends of which are secured on the pivot pins e. The pivot pins e may be situated above the free ends of the caliper arms.
