1527135 Railway spot-type disc brakes; reducing rattle GIRLING Ltd 24 Feb 1976 [4 April 1975] 14003/75 Heading F2E A disc-brake construction intended for railway vehicles comprising pivoted shoecarrying caliper levers 1, shoe hangers 15 and, for each brake shoe 8, a fixed pivot pin 7 along which the shoe is slidable, has resilient means (e.g. a compression spring 13) acting on the shoe pivot pin 7 (via, e.g. a collar 11 secured to the pin) and on a journal portion 9 of the brake shoe carried by that pin to bias the shoe longitudinally of the pin to reduce the tendency to rattle.
