972,464. Disc brakes. H. TEVES, E. A. TEVES, and M. TAUSEND, [trading as ALFRED TEVES MASCHINENUND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMM.GES.]. July 12, 1963 [Sept; 28, 1962], No. 27714/63. Heading F2E. In a disc brake provided with pads 8, 8<SP>1</SP> mounted in an axially fixed casing 2 for movement towards an axially fixed disc 1 and a caliper 5 which straddles the disc and acts on the pad 8, an actuable lever 6 is articulated to the casing 2 at 11 and is provided with two cams 17, 18 which act on the caliper 5 and the pad 8<SP>1</SP> respectively. The lever 6 is actuated by a piston-cylinder device 16 in the casing 2 or a cable attached to the lever end 12. The pads slide in passages in the casing inclined at an angle to the disc and thus have a self-energizing action.
