Abstract
1527843 Spot-type disc brakes SOC ANON DBA 21 Feb 1977 [16 March 1976] 07139/77 Heading F2E In such a brake comprising a caliper member 28, Fig. 1, straddling a rotatable disc (not shown) and slidable on two circumferentiallyspaced surfaces of a fixed member 10 by means of at least one guide key 26, Fig. 4, brakeapplying means being associated with the caliper member 28 to urge one friction pad directly and another by reaction, the guide key 26 being associated with one of the members (as shown, the fixed member 10) and comprising a guide surface 30, Figs. 3, 5, which slidably co-operates with a corresponding surface of the other member, the guide surface 30 comprises at least one assembly of relatively small surfaces 46 separated by recesses 48. As shown, each surface 46 with its adjacent recesses forms a quadrilateral pyramid.
