Abstract

879,782. Hair driers. DIDEDISDIFFUSIONTECHNIQUE-DISTRIBUTION. May 28, 1958 [June 1, 1957], No. 17089/58. Class 81 (2). [Also in Group XI] An electric hair drier of the helmet type has two concentric frusto-conical air deflectors combined with two annular heating resistances, one of the resistances being arranged opposite the passage between the deflectors, the other having a diameter less than that of the internal deflector. As shown, a hair drier comprises a helmet 10, 11, 12 enclosing a fan 14 and annular concentric heating resistances which may be mounted in heat-resistant glass tubes 23 and 24. Frusto-conical deflectors 18 and 19 concentric with the wall of the helmet delimit a passage 20 which may be divided into radial channels by fins 22 and which diverts part of the hot air blown peripherally by the fan and guides it towards the central zone 21 as indicated by the arrow B. A deflector (Fig. 3, not shown) comprising a cylindrical portion and a frustoconical portion may be provided instead of the deflectors 18 and 19 or in combination with them. The outer resistance 23 may be thermostatically controlled. An indicating lamp 26 is mounted inside the helmet, the entry portion 10 of which may be of transparent material.
