Abstract

730,787. Electric air heaters. A.D. APPLIANCES, Ltd., [formerly GREGSON TRADING Ltd.]. April 9, 1953 [Nov. 20, 1951], No. 27253/51. Class 39 (3). [Also in Group XIV] An electric air heater, which may be used for space heating and is adaptable for drying clothes, comprises an annular bowl 1 having an annular partition 6 which divides the bowl into inner and outer air passages 8, 7, a fan 14 and an electric heating element 15 being positioned in the inner passage 8, whereby air entering the heater by the passage 7 reverses its direction round the partition 6 due to the curvature of the base 4 of the bowl before passing over the fan 14 and element 15. A cover 5 apertured at 9 and having a socket 10 for a hollow pillar 11 completes the bowl 1, an electric motor 12 for the fan 14 being housed in the central space formed by the inner walls 3 of the annular bowl 1. Two switches may be provided, one for the motor 12 alone, and one for the motor 12 and element 15. A rod which slides in the upper end of the pillar 11 acts on depression to pivot outwardly banks of rods for supporting clothes to be dried.
