Abstract

494,549. Hair - drying apparatus. LECLABART, J. Jan. 3, 1938, No. 130. Convention date, Jan. 2, 1937. [Class 81 (ii)] In a hair-drying helmet comprising an electrically driven fan 2, an electric resistance for heating the air, and a screen 4 defining an annular space 5 between its outer edge and the helmet 1, the heated air delivered through the space 5 impinges on ribs or projections 3 whereby intense eddies are set up in the air current and drying of the hair is assisted. As shown, the projections 3 comprise hollow metal members which extend from the screen to the front edge of the helmet, but they may take any other form and be arranged either in rows or in staggered relation. The screen may be ring-shaped as shown, or be in the form of a cone or a spherical segment. The central portion 6 of the screen may be perforated or fitted with gauze.
