[Class 81 (ii)] In hair-drying apparatus comprising a double-walled helmet, a double-acting turbine, and electric heating resistances, the inner wall of the helmet is independent of its outer wall and is so mounted that it can be rotated by the air delivered by the turbine.. As shown, the dryer comprises an outer case 1, a motor 4 carried by a spider 5, a turbine 6, and heating resistances 7. The inner wall 9 is mounted on a spider 10, the shaft 11 of which is carried, with the interposition of a ball bearing 14, by a spider 12. Vanes 17 carried by the inner wall ensure its rotation and slots 18 permit passage of hot air to the head. By suitably shaping the slots 18, as by giving them the form of ears, the vanes may be dispensed with. Contact of the hair with the wall 9 is prevented by a grid 20.
