Abstract

879,005. Clamps. NOVALES, W. H. Nov. 30, 1959, No. 40685/59. Class 44. A structure 6, Fig. 1, for clamping together vertical and horizontal tubes 7, 9, and a horizontal channel member 8 comprises a unitary body having a face 10, Fig. 3, formed with a semi-cylindrical recess 5 for receiving the tube 9, and a semi-cylindrical cradle 13 extending normal to the face for receiving one end of the tube 7. The body also incorporates support surfaces 21 through which the member 8 is secured to the structure 6 by two U-bolts each of which embraces the member and engages a surface 21 through a slot 28 and an aperture 27. The tube 9 is fastened to the body face 10 by a clamp 11 and bolts 12 whilst the tube 7 is held in engagment with the cradle 13 by the member 8 spanning the surfaces 21 and a U-bolt 18 projecting from an extension 19 of the cradle. The tube 7 is apertured for locational engagement with a cradle projection stud 17.
