In a mine arch support a clamp for clamping together two channel shaped members having flanges 3, 4 comprises two parts held by screws 11, one part having shoulders 14 which bear against the flanges 4 and which have ribs 15 on their surface whereby when the channelshaped members are under compression the ribs exert a force on the channel-shaped members directed inwardly thereof.
