Abstract
895,934. Pipe supports. BAUER, R. Feb. 23, 1961 [March 11, 1960], No. 6631/61. Class 99(2). [Also in Group XXI] A stand for upright pipes, particularly of sprinklers, comprises a socket 2 which embraces the pipe 1 and to which the supports, such as legs or a spur, are affixed, the socket consisting of a stirrup member which embraces one half of the pipe, and a clamping ring 7 which is separate from the socket and holds the pipe in position. As shown, lugs 4 are provided on the socket for pivotal connection of the legs, and the socket has an extension 6 which extends into the clamping ring which is passed over the end of the pipe . In a modification, the clamping ring 11 is in two parts and seats on the top of the socket 8, lateral relative movement between the socket and pipe being prevented by extensions 14 on the ring.
