877,348. Inertia switches operated by vibration; switches, partly electromagnetic. ROBERTSHAW-FULTON CONTROLS CO. Oct. 16, 1958, No. 33084/58. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XIX] An acceleration responsive switch fixed to a cooling tower fan, for example, in order to detect excessive vibration, is calibrated by adjusting the screw 34 to hold magnetic mass 26 away from magnet 28 in such a position that the mass just cannot fall under the combined forces of normal vibration and gravity. When excessive vibration occurs, the mass falls and rod 24 actuates switch 38. The mass is returned manually by plunger 40 or may be returned electromagnetically.
