Abstract
1,013,027. Switches, partly electromagnetic: inertia switches. BROWN, BOVERI & CO. Ltd. Feb. 28, 1964 [March 1, 1963], No. 8371/64. Heading H2B., [Also in Division G1] A vibration responsive switch comprises a magnetic weight 4 carried by a spring blade 3 and normally held in one position by a permanent magnet 6 against the bias of the spring. The magnet 6 is mounted on a lever 7 whose tip 8 bears on a lever 9 which is pivoted to the base 1. The position of the permanent magnet relative to the weight is adjusted by a set screw 10 acting on lever 9. On operation due to shock the weight 4 strikes the plunger of a contact unit 12 to actuate it. The weight may be reset by a push-button 23 or an electromagnet 16.
