Abstract

893,480. Electromagnetic relays. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 7, 1958 [Aug. 7, 1957], No. 24906/57. Class 38 (5). The armature 3, 7 of an electromagnetic relay has a back-stop in the form of a plunger 14, biased by a spring 17 in the closing direction and slidable in an adjustable screw 15 so as to be frictionally damped in its movement. The stop normally engages the core 1 and is initially so adjusted that the armature resetting force produces no further compression of the spring. The armature carries a screwed pin 12 with an adjustable counter-balance weight 11. The plunger may alternatively be engaged by the armature.
