Abstract
876,915. Side-delivery rakes. VAN DER LELY N.V., C. Sept. 4, 1957 [Dec. 1, 1956], No. 27966/57. Class 6(3). In a side-delivery rake of the kind having rake-wheels which are adjustable relatively to the frame about vertical axes, a drawbar is connected to one of the rake-wheels so as to be rotatable about the corresponding vertical axis. The device is similar to that shown in Specification 876,914 and comprises a frame 2, 3 in two parts hinged together, the frame being E-shaped in plan and having, at the ends of its limbs, beams 5, 6, 15, hinged to the limbs about vertical pivots 7, 8, 16. Each beam carries two rake-wheels 20, 21 supported on cranks 22, 23, and the foremost beam is extended to carry a drawbar 37 and a swivel ground-wheel 38, both the drawbar and wheel pivoting about the vertical spindle 39. The beams 6, 15, also carry ground-wheels 40, 42 the rearmost wheel being a castor. The frame can be dismantled about the pivot 4, the front part of the frame being then used alone on the three ground-wheels 38, 40, 44. Each beam may have attached thereto an auxiliary beam 49, 52, carrying a rake-wheel 31, 32, so that the device may comprise two sets of rake-wheels. Each auxiliary beam is horizontally pivoted to the main beam and is floatingly supportedby a spring 55. Specifications 876,916 and 876,917 also are referred to.
