Abstract
892,615. Haymaking machines. VAN DER LELY N.V., C. Dec. 18, 1958 [Dec. 21, 1957], No. 40901/58. Class 6(3). A rake-wheel type haymaking machine comprises a frame 1, which is roughly T-shaped in plan and is attached to a tractor 11 through an attachment frame 6, the frames 1 and 6 being pivoted together about a vertical hinge 32 so that the rake-wheels 2, 3, 4 can have one working position alongside one rear tractor-wheel, the rake-wheels in that position delivering the crop in a direction away from the tractor. The rake-wheels are carried on stub-axles 16, 17 on beams 18, 25 which can be turned through 180 degrees about pivots 19, 26. The pivots are carried by sleeves 20, 27 which are pinned to the main frame-beam 12 but which can be swung upwardly about it to turn the beams 18, 25. The frame beam 13 is attached to the frame 6 by the hinge 32 and is secured by a detent 41, 42. The frame 6 is carried on lift-arms 7, 8, 9. As shown in Fig. 4 the device may be converted into a swath-turner by inverting the beams 18, 25 and swinging the frame 1 about the hinge 32. By swinging the frame and not inverting the beams, the device constitutes a tedder, but the rake-wheels must then be reversed on their stubaxles. In Fig. 5 the rake-wheels 61-64 are carried on cranks 66 and the frame 60 is supported on a single caster 75 and attached to a drawbar 73. By rotation about the hinge 71 the frame 60 can occupy two further working positions. The device shown in Fig. 8 has rakewheel cranks 91 which are each adjustable about a vertical axis 103 in addition to floating about a horizontal axis so that the rake-wheels can operate independently, as shown, or occupy a co-operating, side-delivery, position similar to Fig. 5. The frame 80 is carried on casters 109. 110 and has a hinge-connection 108 (not shown) with the coupling frame on the tractor 90. Specifications 892,616 and 892,617 are referred to.
