In a tractor-drawn side-delivery rake of the type having rake-wheels 22 driven directly by ground-contact, the wheels are mounted on a frame 2 having means 8, 11 for coupling it to the rear of a tractor 3 and a lifting device 30, 33 is provided between the coupling means and the frame 2 whereby the frame and the rake-wheels can be raised relatively to the coupling means. The coupling means comprises a tube 8 secured by brackets 6 to the drawplate 4 of the tractor, the tube 8 being secured to a vertical tube 11 upon which a structure 16, 18, 19 is pivoted, about bearings 14, 15 on the tube 11. The structure includes a pair of plates 16 joined to the horizontal plate 18 and receiving between them a pivot pin 20 for the sleeve 19. The frame 2 includes a horizontal bar 21 which is received within the tube 19 and locked in position by a latch 24. The sleeve 19 and frame 2 can pivot about the pin 20 and are liftable by a lever 30 journalled between the plates 16 and integral with lever arms 32, 45, which carry respectively a resilient link 33 and balancing springs 43. The resilient link 33 permits vertical floating movement of the frame 2 when the lever is locked by the detent 47. The frame can be turned through 180 degrees about the axis of the sleeve 19, for tedding, and can be adjustably angled in a horizonal plane, Fig. 1 (not shown).
