Abstract

699,971. Lawn-mowers. ALLEN & SONS (OXFORD), Ltd., J. Feb. 6, 1952 [Feb. 7, 1951], No. 2979/51. Class 6(ii) Gang-lawn mowers are coupled to a wheeled towing means 11 by a drawbar 21 having forwardly-extending arms .23 which are pivoted about an axis coincident with the wheel axis of the towing means, the individual mowers being coupled to the drawbar at a level equal to the height of their own wheel-axes above the ground. As shown, the towing means comprises a trailer 11 carrying a seat 15 and the arms 23 are extended by vertical arms 25 pivoted to brackets 26 on the trailer-frame 12. The mowers 40, 42 are coupled to the drawbar by rods 36, 38 having vertical pivots 30, 32 at one end and horizontal pivots at the other, to permit both vertical and lateral swinging of the mowers.
