Abstract

905,934. Forage harvesters. HARRISON, McGBEGOR & GUEST Ltd. April 6, 1961 [April 14, 1960], No. 13298/60. Class 6(3). In a forage-harvester having a shoot 10, 11, the upper part 10 of which is angularly movable manually for either lateral or rearward discharge, the upper part is movable about a spindle 18 housed within the shoot. The lower part 11 has a segmental cropcarrying passage formed between the side-walls 14 and a partition 13 behind which the spindle 18 is mounted on upper and lower plates 16, 17. The upper shoot-part 10 is provided with a bracket 19 bored to receive the spindle 18 and an arcuate detent plate 30 which cooperates with a triggeroperated catch 26, 27, 29 to retain the shoot-part 10 in any adjusted position. A spring-loaded flap 22 can be adjusted by a cable 23 to deflect the crop downwardly at any angle. The lower shoot-part 11 is hinged to the flail-housing 12 to permit access to the flails (not shown). The main frame is of trailer construction with rear wheels 33 and a power take-off connection 35 to the towing tractor.
