Abstract

820,060. Combine-harvesters. RANSOMES SIMS & JEFFERIES Ltd., and JARVIS, J. S. Nov. 8, 1957 [Nov. 8, 1956], No. 34222/56. Class 6(3). In a combine-harvester, the floor 8 of the elevator feeding the cut crop to the threshing drum 6 is extended by a plate 7 hinged to the body of the harvester and bridging the gap between the lip 7 of the elevator floor and the concave 5, the plate being urged resiliently against the underside of the lip. In one form shown, two plates 1, 2 are provided, both being hinged on a common pivot-pin 3 carried by the harvester-body, the rear plate resting on a lip 4 at the front of the concave and the front plate being provided with an upturned lip 14 which is urged by spring-loaded bolts 10 against the underside of the member 7, the bolts being passed through a bracket 11 on the harvester-body. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the rear plate is replaced by a pan which acts as a stone trap.
