Abstract

878,398. Forage harvesters. LUNDELL (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd. Sept. 8, 1959 [Sept. 11, 1958 ; April 1, 1959], Nos. 29198/58 and 11128/59. Class 6(3). In a forage-harvester of the type having a crop-disingrating and pick-up member comprising a power-driven flail-shaft 25, the flailshaft is carried by a sub-frame 21 pivotally supported on the main frame 1 of the harvester. In Fig. 1, the main frame is directly mounted on tractor hitch-links by means of a structure 2, 5, the drive to the flails being derived from the tractor through a shaft 11, gearbox 9, and belt-drives 17, 27. The sub-frame is pivoted within the main-frame on aligned stub-shafts 19, 22, one of these carrying common pulleys for the belt-drives 17, 27. A casing 23 envelops the upper part of the flail-assembly and is integral with a discharge shoot 24. In Fig. 4, the main frame 65 forms part of a tipping trailer, the body 62, 63 being tipped by a hydraulic jack 66 and having a pivoted rear side 68.
