A lawn-mower comprising a motor subframe 10, a wheeled or rollered cutter sub-frame 15, a cylinder cutter 14 mounted on the cutter sub-frame, a motor 12 mounted on the motor sub-frame and a flexible drive 23 from the motor to the cutter, is characterized in that the cutter sub-frame is mounted on the motor subframe for rotation about a longitudinal axis about the pivot 20. A spring 27 is located to one side of the pivot 20 sewing to counter balance the cutter sub-frame when the machine is lifted.
