Class 20(2) The top platform of a ship's accommodation ladder comprises a part 12, 13 rotatable on a pivot 10 in the plane of the stationary part 2-4. The part 12, 13 carries the ladder 16 on pivots 14, 15 and can be turned from a position as accommodation ladder for a ship 1 to a position at right angles as a gang plank. The stationary part is formed of three beams 2-4 in the form of a triangle with the pivot 10 mounted at the centre of the hypotenuse and can be stowed with the ladder by pivoting about pivots 6, 7. The platform is covered by a covering plate. The angle 5 of the platform is supported by a stay 19 or a beam.
