Abstract

1522310 Multi-hulls I L FARRIER 13 Nov 1975 [18 Nov 1974] 497.68/74 Heading B7A To reduce the beam, the outrigger assembly between a stabilizing float 12 and the main hull 11 of a multi hull trimaran comprises a transverse support beam 14 whose inner end 17 is releasably connected to the main hull 11 and an arm 20 pivotally connected at either end to the beam 14 and hull 11 respectively to permit the beam 14 to pivot upwardly upon release of its end 17 and thereby move the float 12 horizontally to a position alongside the main hull 11. As described the craft is a trimaran and each float 12 is connected to the main hull by a pair of like outrigger assemblies. A second pivot arm 22 is connected to each outrigger beam 14 and 15 arid the beams are pivoted by means of a wire and winch (not shown).
