Abstract

1,180,318. Catamarans. J. E. KEDDIE. 24 Sept., 1968 [26 April, 1968], No. 19928/68. Headings B7A and B7V. A catamaran has spaced bouyant hulls 1 pivoted to a frame 2 at 25, 251 and 26, 26<SP>1</SP> and coupled by means of links 19, 20 to a mast 3 pivoted about an axis 4 by the cross-component of the wind impinging on the sail, and thus heeling the hulls in a direction to resist side drift. The hulls may be of ski-configuration. Rudders 8 are protected by keels (not shown) if the craft is run on the beach.
