A ship's ladder 10 is pivoted at 6 to a plate 3 which is rotatable about an upper platform 2. The plate 3 is coupled to the platform 2 by a collar member 4, the plate 3 and collar member 4 co-operating with bearing members 8 on the platform 2. The platform 2 is pivoted to the ship's side by arms 5.
