Abstract
876,269. Two-part couplings. DAVIS & SON (DERBY) Ltd., JOHN., and DAVIS, W. B. March 23, 1960 [Jan. 20, 1959], No. 1999/59. Class 38 (1). Both parts of a two-part electrical coupling have identical housings 10 with tapered interfitting castellations or peripheral dogs 20 having peripheral grooves 27 which, on interengagement of the dogs, are aligned to form an annular groove for traption of a spring-retaining clip 26. One of the dogs on each housing may be of a different width from the others to ensure correct orientation. As shown, each housing contains a gland 13, an insulating collar 14, a disc 15 and a connection block 16 held in position by a screw 25, the block 16 having sockets 17 or pins 18. The connections may, however, be of a form other than plug and socket, e.g. spring-loaded plungers.
