876,040. Tubular heat-exchange elements. ROYLES Ltd. Nov. 3, 1959, No. 37186/59. Class 64(3) [Also in Group XXII] In a heat-exchanger tube of the type having an initiallycircular cross-section deformed at regular intervals by indentations F<SP>1</SP>, F', F<SP>3</SP>, to produce multi-lobed sections, the lobes G all lie within an imaginary circle C having the diameter of the undeformed tube A and the deformations are staggered relatively to one another around the axis of the tube by an amount equal to half the angle between the lines of action of the consecutive presstools performing the deformation. This arrangement permits the ready withdrawal of a defective tube from a stack.
