796,837. Rolling finned tubes. CALUMET & HECLA, Inc. June 12, 1956 [June 29, 1955], No. 18143/56. Class 83 (4). Apparatus for rolling fins on tube T, Fig. 1, comprises a plurality of rolls 30 which reduce the diameter of the tube over a conical portion 26 of a floating mandrel 20 and one or more fin forming rolls 10 which engage the reduced tube over a reduced portion 24 of the mandrel. Each of the rolls 10 comprises a plurality of separate rib-forming discs 12 clamped to a driving arbor 16 by a nut 14 and mounted at a helical angle to cause the tube to advance axially.
