Abstract

PURPOSE: To give not very much change to the ratio of wall-thickness to outside diameter between the metallic pipe before and after the drawing work, and to easily perform the drawing work for the long sized metallic pipe, by drawing the metallic pipe through the drawing dies provided with the die angle larger than the usulal die angle, while the back tension is being given to the metallic pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The metallic pipe 20 is passed through the drawing dies 30 for giving the back tension, and is passed through the drawing dies 50 through the capstan 40; hereby, the diameter of the metallic pipe 20 is reduced, and then, the metallic pipe 20 is coiled into the bobbin 60. In this case, the die angle of the dies 50 is settled at 40W80 degrees which is larger than the usual drawing die angle (about 15W30 degrees), and the die angle of the dies 30 is settled smaller than the die angle of the dies 50. Hereupon, these die angle means the included angle 0 being made of the illustrated lines AB and A'B'.
