Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a laminated metallic pipe in high quality with an almost negligible running cost, in a case of manufacturing a laminated metallic pipe by a perss system, by winding a metallic foil as an interposable material spirally around an inner pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A metallic foil 3 as an interposable material is wound spirally around outer surface of an inner pipe 2 so as to overlap some length of tip of the metallic foil 3 wound at the beginning; then, the inner pipe 2 is inserted into an outer pipe 1. Hereupon, as the interposable material, a metallic foil readily diffusible into both of inner and outer pipes 1, 2, that is the clad metal and the parent metal, is employed. A cold stretch reducing process is then applied this pipe assembly by a hydraulic elongator, etc., for drawing a plug P, and a billet 4 is parepared. In this billet 4, the inner pipe 2 is firmly, and tightly clad to the outer pipe 1 through the interposed metallic foil so that no air remains between the parent metal and the clad metal; hereby, the billet 4 is readily, metallurgically integrated into one body by a following hot diffusion process.
