Abstract
884,924. Tube joints. LUMMUS NEDERLAND N. V. May, 24, 1960 [May 26, 1959], No. 18244/60. Class 99(1). In a heat-exchanger comprising two tube plates 3 interconnected by a number of tubes 1, each tube is slidably mounted at both ends in a sleeve 4 slidably mounted in a hole in the associat - ed tube plate, a seal being provided between the tube and the sleeve, and the sleeve and the tube plate. As shown, the sleeve is formed with grooves for O-rings 5, 8 and has a flange 6 for abutment with the tube plate ; between the latter and the flange a blocking device may be disposed so as to prevent excessive displacement of the sleeve and towards the tube plate. The tubes may be connected at the middle thereof to a fixed support.
