Abstract

876,019. Pipe joints. PARKINSON COWAN Ltd. Jan. 9, 1958 [Jan. 22, 1957], No. 2325/57. Class 99(1). A pipe connecting arrangement for making a fluid-tight connection between two adjacent ends of a pipe line comprises a connecting piece 17 having co-axial or parallel ends 15, 16. Pipe line end pieces 23 slidably fit inside or outside the ends 15, 16, with fluid tight packing 27 therebetween. The pieces 23 which may be angled have a screwed part 24 for connection to the pipe line so that they can be adjusted axially and angularly and finally secured by a grub screw 28. As shown, the connecting piece 17 is formed, as described in Specification 876,018 so as to connect the pipe line to a meter.
