Abstract

872,923. Piles. MULLER, L. March 31, 1960 [April 25, 1959], No. 11392/60. Class 68(2). A ramming device for piles, pipes or the like comprises an unbalanced vibrator 7, Fig. 1, connected by spring means 8 and a yoke 5 to a dolly unit 1 having an associated gear drive and acting as a loading or tensioning element. The yoke 5 is movable in guides 4, 4<SP>1</SP> by means of rollers 6 and the ram or tup 9 is rigidly connected to the vibrator. The gear train 10 at the foot of the dolly together with the endless hoisting element 11 running over sheaves 12 and capable of being clamped at any location by means of clamp 13 to the yoke 5, are intended to take up the static load acting on the tup 9. The dolly is equipped with a platform 14 for additional loading weights 15, a crane jib 16 and eyes 181, 1811, 18<SP>111</SP> for suspending the rammer on a crane 19 (Fig. 2) or an excavator (Fig. 3, not shown). Gear to transmit static forces to the ram 9 comprises a spur gear train 22, the rack bar 23 of which is located on the dolly 1a and pinion 24 with driving motor 25 is attached to the yoke 5a, Fig. 2.
