Abstract

871,312. Dealing with exhaust. TOWMOTOR CORPORATION. Sept. 11, 1958 [Sept. 23, 1957], No. 29192/58. Class 7(2). [Also in Group XXXI] To quench engine exhaust sparks, a tube 25, Fig. 2, running diagonally of a radiator 22 for water or other engine coolant, discharges engine exhaust from slots or holes 54 into an air stream blown through the radiator by a fan 38. Baffles may be employed to direct the exhaust against the radiator surfaces. The engine 30 is shown mounted at the rear of a fork lift truck in a casing 20, but may be on a tractor or any truck.
