517,721. Ejecting exhaust. RICHARDSON, F. H., and RICHARDSON, E. P. April 28, 1939, No. 16026/38. [Class 7 (ii)] An ejector action on the exhaust gases is obtained by fixing around the end of the exhaust pipe 1 a tube 2 and a jacket 3 formed with a scoop 4 to receive air. In motor vehicles, the scoop is arranged to collect the air when the vehicle is in motion. The end 5 of the jacket 3 is also open, so as to receive the back-flow of air. The device is positioned on the exhaust pipe by a sleeve 12 flanged at 13 to engage the end of the pipe. A deflector 14 may be provided in the tube 2. Specification 433,803 is referred to.
