871,070. Cartons. GLASER, J. Oct. 3, 1957 [Oct. 13, 1956], No. 30962/57. Class 18. A carton for an egg or like object 14 comprises a blank, see Fig. 4, scored to provide deviation side-by-side a first terminal panel, a first base panel, two adjacent central panels having press-out tongues 9, a second base panel and a second terminal panel. The blank is folded to form the central panels into a tube with the egg's ends received in apertures made by pressing out the tongues 9, interlocking means consisting of tongues 13 and slits 11 maintaining its shape, while the base panels are bent to underlie and form a base for the tube ; the terminal panels are folded upwardly to extend obliquely outwardly of the egg's ends and are retained in position by engagement of the tongues 9 with complementary slots 10.
