Abstract

861,290. Cartons. SHIRLEY & WARBEY BOX CO. Ltd. June 19, 1958 [June 19, 1957], No. 19365/57. Class 18. An eight wall tubular carton for an electric light bulb 11 which carries a collar 6 round its neck, has a diamond shaped aperture 3 provided in each of the angles between two opposite pairs of adjacent walls. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, portions 8 of the collar 6 project through the apertures 3. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the apertures are provided by cutting two adjacent sides of each diamond and creasing the other two sides, to form internal shelves. In a further modification, Fig. 5, the internal shelves 25, formed by cutting the diamond shaped apertures, support the bulbous part of the bulb. The collar is supported by inwardly folded panels 22 formed by cuts 26 and creases 27.
