A carton, which may be in the shape e.g. of a toy train, comprises three tubular shells fitting telescopically into one another, the shells being made up respectively from single blanks. Pairs of retaining lugs 8, 16, 18, 26 are bent inwardly or outwardly as shown so that when the shells are fully extended the lugs prevent separation of the assembly.
