[Also in Groups X and XXV] A device for securing a hollow ended member 1 to a structure member 2 comprises an anchoring element 3 adapted to be mounted within the hollow ended member in a position such that at one end of such element a portion projects from the adjacent end of the hollow ended member whereby the projecting portion can pass through an opening 13 in a wall of the structure member the projecting portion having a laterally directed ear 12 adapted to overlie the rear surface of the wall, a screw 14 arranged to exert pressure for displacing the anchoring element in a direction transversely of the hollow ended member and an inclined plane device associated with the anchoring element for the purpose of drawing the element further into the hollow ended member by tightening up the screw thereby to cause the ear to exert pressure on the rear surface of the wall of the structure member while the adjacent extremity of the hollow ended member bears on the front face of the structure member. As shown in addition to the anchoring element a locating element 4 is provided which is also mounted in the hollow ended member this locating element having a projection 5 for engaging an opening 6 in the member 1 to maintain it in the predetermined position. The anchoring element cooperates with the locating element to provide the inclined plane device since it has inclined faces 19 which engage inclined faces 20 of the anchoring element. The locating element also has a tongue 7 which is adapted to engage in a slot 8 in the structure member.
