Abstract

A composition for application to wood fibre boards in order to render said boards non-inflammable comprises an aqueous solution of 30%-40% mono-ammonium phosphate, 10%-20% diammonium phosphate, 8%-11% urea, 17%-25% pentaerythritol and 10%-16% formaldehyde, percentages being by weight. Kaolin and titanium dioxide may be added. The solution may be applied by spraying on to the dried board, the board then being heated to dry out and polymerize the solution.
