Abstract

869,383. Burners. OFU OFENBAU-UNION G.m.b.H. Jan. 30, 1959 [Jan. 30, 1958], No. 3450/59. Class 75(1). [Also in Group XII] In a method of producing hot gases by the combustion of oil or gas in a chamber, t least one of the combustion participants is given a helical movement before entering the chamber, and the participants enter the chamber through a trumpet shaped burner mouth and are caused by the shape of the chamber to be turned round and drawn back by suction towards the inlet. The burner 2 is supplied with air by a pipe 20 and with oil or gas by a pipe 21. The combustion chamber is spherical and has an outlet 14 for the combustion gases. In a modification the chamber is partly cylindrical and may have a plurality of outlets. In another modification the outlet is Venturi shaped.
