Abstract

868,896. Valves. GENERAL CONTROLS CO. March 23, 1959, No. 9924/59. Class 135. A valve comprising an armature 22 carrying rubber-like valve members 23, 24 coacting with seats 18, 19 and actuated, against a loading spring 25, by a solenoid 28 has a fluid flow connection 13 communicating with a chamber 12, a second connection 21 communicating with the seat 19 and third connection 42 communicating with the seat 18 by way of passages 41, 38 and a a tube 36 extending through a gap 43 between a tube 15 in which the armature reciprocates and the former 29 of the solenoid which is mounted eccentrically in relation to the tube 15. For higher flow rates more than one tube 36 may be provided in the space 43 or a single, larger tube of a cross-section to suit the shape of the space 43 may be provided. The chamber 12 communicates with the seat 18 through a pair of slots 27 in the armature. The passage associated with the seat 19 may be eliminated to provide a two-way valve.
