Abstract

866,884. Forging manipulators. DANGO, B., and DIENENTHAL, H. Oct. 5, 1959 [Nov. 25, 1958], No. 33689/59. Class 83 (4). A forging manipulator has its tongs 1 carried by a rotatable shaft 2 and actuated by a cylinder 3, the tongs, shaft and cylinder being mounted to allow horizontal movement against spring pressure due to axial forces which occur during forging. Shaft 2 is mounted for axial movements against springs 11, 12 within a casing 4 and is keyed thereto at 10. The casing is rotated by an electric or hydraulic motor 6 through gearing 7, 8, 9 and is mounted within a carrier 5 having wheels 13, 14 running in vertical guides 15 extending from a main carriage 16. The carrier 5 is raised and lowered by a piston 20 working in a cylinder 19.
