Abstract

968,859. Forging manipulators. HYDRAULIK G.m.b.H. Dec. 22, 1960 [Dec.28, 1959; Jan. 16, 1960], No. 44115/60. Heading B3H. A forging manipulator has its tongs holder 5 and driving wheels 3 rotated by rotary oil motors supplied from a gas-loaded oil-pressure accumulator 21. The tongs 4 are opened and closed by an hydraulic piston 12 and the tongs holder 5 carries a gear 13 meshing with a pinion 15 driven through gearing 14 by a gear motor or a rotary-piston motor 16. Raising and lowering of the holder 5 is effected by lever arms 8. The driving wheels 3 are driven through gearing by a rotary oil motor 19, Fig. 2 (not shown). Both motors are supplied from the accumulator 21 whose upper chamber 23 is charged with air or gas from cylinders 22 and whose oil chamber 25 is charged by a pump 30 driven by an electric motor 33. A non-return valve 35 and by-pass valve 28 are provided. In another embodiment, Figs. 3, 8 (not shown), the manipulator carriage has one or more steerable driving wheels each rotated by one or two rotary oil motors mounted on the steering forks. The latter are actuated through a raok-and-pinion by an hydraulic piston.
