Abstract

1,060,916. Forging. GESELLSCHAFT FUR FERTIGUNGSTECHNIK UND MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. May 31, 1965 [July 23, 1964], No. 22974/65. Heading B3H. A die forging machine includes pairs of die carrying hammers 3 and 4 disposed at 90 degrees to each other in a common plane, at least the finishing dies 12 being indirectly operated by means of compressed gas. The gas acts on pistons, not shown, which transmit movement to pistons 6 hydraulically, fluid on the piston-rod-side of each piston 6 being displaced into an accumulator 10 during each striking movement. Pre-shaping dies 11, carried by the hammers 3, are operated before the finishing dies, and may also be indirectly actuated by compressed gas. The dies 12 can be arranged to sever a workpiece from an axially fed workpiece during their working strokes.
