841,258. Crimping. SOC. MECANOSER. July 23, 1956 [July 23, 1955], No. 22768/56. Class 83 (4). [Also in Group XXIX] A fluid-operated press for crimping connectors to electric cables comprises a piston 15 working in a cylinder 21 supplied by a manually-operated single-plunger pump 7 which draws from a reservoir 1. A return-stroke is effected, upon manual operation of a valve in a return line, by a spring 17. A die holder 26 carrying a die 29 is detachably mounted on the head of the press and co-operates with a punch 16 carried by the piston. In a modification the pump and reservoir are formed as a separate unit and connected to the press part by a flexible pipe.
