862,304. Making cartons ; packaging. ZAVODY V. 1. LENINA NARODNI PODNIK. April 16, 1958 [April 17, 1957], No. 12088/58. Classes 18 and 94(1). A device for maintaining folded the end closing flaps 11 of a carton 1 as it is transferred from a forming mandrel 2 to a sleeve 4 for transport to filling means (not shown), comprises means for projecting an air stream against the flaps during transfer. The carton with end flaps glued and folded is ejected from the mandrel by a member 3 and at the same time the sleeve 4, resiliently mounted for transverse movement relative to a conveyer carrying it, is pushed towards the mandrel by a reciprocating head 6. The head ejects an air stream supplied by a pipe 9 against the flaps as the member 3 thrusts the carton into the sleeve.
